You can also join one of the many Walking Tours
that will take you around working to a theme of Dublin’s
numerous sites of historical and cultural interest. These
usually go every day and you can join at the starting point
or book ahead. Leaflets at your hotel will let you see the
wide range available.
One of the top tours is a Musical Pub Crawl.
This is great fun as the tours are conducted by two musicians
who talk and sing while telling the story of Irish Music and
its impact on world music.
In the course of the tour you visit many of the famous pubs
and bars in the Temple Bar area where you can enjoy a drink
in a private room. The tour lasts about two and a half hours
and you can meet upstairs at Oliver St John Gogarty’s
pub in Temple Bar at 7.30 - all evenings in the summer,
weekends in the winter. You can book online at DiscoverIreland.ie
or through any tourist office or by ringing +353 1 478 0193
or +353 1 475 1324.
There are also many tours to outside Dublin which are worth
considering - like a trip to the Giant’s Causeway, the
